Abstract

In a doctoral research on medical intervention about pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period, we consider relevant to wonder about the spatiality of the child birth, its assistance, the participants and the different dynamics that generates and are generated by the different places in which the child birth happens. In the following lines, we will reflect on the places of the child birth moment, emphasizing on the one suggested and imposed by the hegemonic medical model in Health, the hospital and the alternative of home birth, taking into account the geographic perspective.
