Abstract

This paper analyzes the goat production in Malargüe, south of Mendoza, its links with the local context and in the context of change and prospects for marginal rural areas of our regional economies. We will refer to the current situation and possible production and slaughter of goat meat in the department. The study enriches the one hand, with contributions from the conceptual framework of the processes resulting from marginalization, and the dynamics and contexts of regional economies, and within, the marginal production systems accompanying productions traditional and most important extrapampeanas.
