The northwest: Between globalization and marginality

Abstract

This paper analyzes the creation and development conditions for Argentina’s Northwestern region, locating the changes produced in various economic and social sectors for the last thirty years – basically, in agriculture, mining and tourism – which have had an impact on the environment and on land ownership.
