Abstract

This study focuses on the investment in infrastructure in the province of Buenos Aires as a central element in the structural change proclaimed in order to minimize the productivity differentials which are key to the Argentine economic cycle problems. The bidirectional relation between territory and national scale is assumed in our approach. To carry out the analysis, we differentiate between three different infrastructures: social, productive and that which is a consequence of the dominant economic structure. We also include a descriptive study of the importance that each kind of infrastructure has and of the investment localization logic, and we also make an econometric regression by means of which we try to find significant explanatory variables.
