History of the re-contextualizing field and its connection to the production field in Argentine geography
Main Article Content
Abstract
In Argentina, the 1990 Education Reform introduced new course contents in all education levels, which -for the first time- included teacher training. In Geography, teaching experts have pointed out the changes in disciplinary approach that these new contents launched. The aim of this paper is to offer a view of the history of those actors and processes involved in approach transformations within the teaching arena. The period that has been looked at began in 1863, when Geography was added to the Argentine education system, and finished in the early 1990s. The development of the account builds on previous studies as well as on the analysis of primary sources in the case of the processes, which have been less systematized up to now
