Abstract

Surveying and revealing aspects related to the concept of developmentmay enable us to fully understand non-precise and incongruous areas. Thishas turned out to be a guiding force on western thought as well as the centerof a semantic constellation through how people think, feel and act. Therefore, since this creates a signifier which includes heterogeneous elements, it canattract unsatisfied social demands related to research questions from socialdisciplines. However, very diverse and changing -even contradictory- ideasare often housed within its name. In the face of its apparent strength, very fewwords can be as vague, fragile and incapable of offering substance and meaningas development. By taking all this into account, we would like to describeand analyze development as a construction, concept and practice so as toquestion its basic precepts and reconsider our practice as researchers.
