Current situation of the agricultural Pampas. Theoretical basis for the socio-territorial vulnerability indicators
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current situation of the agricultural Pampas ever since the application of the Neo Liberal economic model in the 1970s until today has posed the challenge to re-think the categories of analysis which may allow us to tackle the study of the agricultural social actors' socio-territorial vulnerability. The Neo Liberal assumptions which have led the agricultural production model of capital accumulation and rapid rotation, financial speculation, social and environmental cost externalization, among others generate profound socioterritorial inequality situations which increase the level of vulnerability. Theorizing about the indicators which, under other assumptions, allow us to value the levels of vulnerability is, then, unavoidable in order to propose alternatives which are in accordance with the socio-territorial justice principle. In order to achieve this, we begin with an analysis of the current situation of agricultural producers in the south of Córdoba; we then analyze the Neo Liberal assumptions which have guided the agricultural production, so as to come up with alternative ways to the Capitalist agricultural model, in order to provide our contribution to the discussión on the construction of socio-territorial vulnerability indicators.
