Territory and university extension. A social organization experiencie at the Pereyra Iraola Park

Abstract

This paper accounts for the social organization and extension experience that university people, political affiliates and rural technicians have been carrying out, together with a group of forty families at the Pereyra Iraola Park since 2001, as a crisis counteraction strategy. We intend to understand the transformation process which takes place with the rural workers' territorial positioning as a complex relationship system between the producers' social position, the irregularities in land possession, spontaneous eviction resistance, rural extensionists' positioning that provide technical assistance, and the non-agrotoxics conversion strategy.
